Golfer Muscle Pain

Many golfers, and beginners in particular, experience muscle pain after golfing.

The typical areas where pain is felt are:

・The outside of the right leg (in the extensor digitorum longus.) This is due to using too much power on the downswing.
・Pain in the biceps, from swinging the club too hard.
・Pain in the shoulders or neck, again as a result of the above.

Advanced players may experience pain or fatigue in the triceps, as a result of extending their arms.

Improving one’s form may alleviate problems with some pain but massaging the muscles after each round of golf is highly recommended.
